"Better vision will improve your life!"

Michele M. Hayes, O.D. formerly of Sacramento, California has sold her practice of eighteen years in Citrus Heights. She has embraced downtown Santa Rosa as the site of her next office location by purchasing Uptown Optometry at 208 "E" Street. Uptown Optometry has been in business for 28 years with a solid history of community service and satisfied customers.

Dr. Hayes earned her degree in Optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry in Yorba Linda in 1988. "I'm looking forward to providing a vital service to eyecare for the downtown community," says the new owner.

"When I was a kid, I couldn't see the tv or the blackboard at school. Once I finally figured out the problem and convinced my parents that I needed glasses – the transformation was amazing." Michele continues, "I still enjoy making a difference in people's lives. Children and seniors can both provide a challenge to find the best solutions for their eyecare situations."

Founder, Dr. Dennis Kennedy, O.D. will continue to practice at the location on a part-time basis. Dr. Janette Hildebrand, O.D. has been at Uptown Optometry for the past four years and will continue as well. The staff includes Business Manager, Terry Breazeale with twenty years at the company and Receptionist, Jeanette Ortiz who has been there for ten. The friendly atmosphere and skilled professionalism make for a very pleasant eyecare experience.

A fan of local history, Dr. Hayes invites everyone to visit their parking lot. "We're especially fortunate to have an historic mural behind the offices. The painting honors Luther Burbank and was created by elementary school kids back in 1995. We want to be part of that community spirit," she adds.

Uptown Optometry has three doctors and a friendly staff to help you get your eyes examined and find the best glasses or contact lenses to suit your vision and lifestyle needs.
